The Veterans Football League is in its 2nd year. It is a football league for players aged 35 and above. It's about a bit of craic, a bit of football and a few post-match beers. Normal FIFA rules apply, apart from each half being 40 mins. (Some of us would never make 90 mins!) Each team shall play every other team home & away. Other rules include:

1. Any teams playing under-age players, if caught, will lose any points in which the under-age player played. Suspected players should be reported to the referee, and the player must produce either passport or driving license to prove their age before their team's next game. Failure to do so will also mean lost points.

2. If one team is short of players, the opposing team must lend that team their subs. If the subs refuse to play, then the subs cannot play at all

3. Any problems fulfilling a fixture, please contact the league immediately, ie ring 07889300250. Dont leave it to the last minute, or you may lose the points. Each team may request only 1 fixture change, and again it must be 48 hours before kick-off.

4. The top 2 teams in the league shall play a further one-off game for the League title

5. The 3rd and 4th placed teams shall also play for the Supplementary Cup. The idea of this is to give all 7 teams something to play for throughout the season.

6. It would be helpful if opposing managers spoke to each other on the day before their fixture to confirm they would be playing, sort out team colours, venue, etc..

7. Rolling subs are allowed, but only if both teams agree before kick-off

8. The referee's word is final. The referee will also enforce FIFA rules concerning yellow/red cards.

Please note, this whole idea is new to me and has taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears to set up. Any help would be appreciated.
